Signs Your Tree Needs Trimming:

  • Overcrowded, crisscrossing branches can lead to damages and decay of other branches
  • Broken branches often show the tree needs pruning
  • Branches are growing close to the home/business or power lines
  • It is difficult to see through the tree

Crown Reduction

What is the difference between regular trimming and crown reduction? Crown reduction is a technique that is tailored to shortening a tree when it grows a little too high. Trimming is more focused on the width and removal of dead, crowded or dying branches.  Not all trees are good candidates for a crown reduction and we wouldn't reccommend it for most species.  The most common trees this type of trimming is performed on are Bradford Pear trees.  This is due to their likelihood of breaking during storms paired with their resiliance and fast growth rate.  Paul Bunyan’s Tree Service has the equipment and skills to perform this service in the correct circumstances.
